Welcome back my friend Violet Moon – we connected a few years back when Violet shared her family story for a Parent Tribe magazine. I have been following what she has been doing since, inspiring other parents to build strong compassionate connections with their kids. I invited her to do an update on her family story….
Family names and ages There are 7 of us. Daddy, Violet, Emmy, Cora, Lui, Anty, and Leo.
Where do you live? We Live in PA, in the USA.
Please explain your lifestyle and philosophy Our life style, is simple, we live a life learning lifestyle. Where our goals are always to grow individually as we grow as a whole. We value honesty, learning through life experiences, as well as spiritual and emotional intelligence.
Do you work-from-home or are you a stay at home parent? Please tell us about it. I work from home. I own a website called Soul Centered Mama, where I help moms connect energetically and spiritually with their children, so that they can parent with natural connection, as well as stay at home and homeschool my 5 children.
How do you make things work? I have a VA for my business, and dedicate the days to my kids and home…and I am learning more and more to chunk off my time. I am a huge believer that when I am struggling with something, that this is my cue to pull back and restructure or take a break.
What inspired your lifestyle? My homeschooling lifestyle came about when I put my oldest in school when they were 5 and 6. It felt wrong and their resistance to school made me find another way. Life learning came about because, I realised that they learned better when they were emotionally invested in what they are learning. My business came about, because I’ve always felt a need to help mothers, due to having a rough time with a lack of support, early on (I didn’t want other mothers to go through what I did) – being able to connect with their children and with the mothers energetically is like the icing on the cake for me.
What are your child/ children’s education options? They are in a homeschool coop where they are taking various classes.
If you work from home what is the best bit of advice you could give other parents who want to work from home? I’d say…take it easy on yourself – as they say, “Rome was not built in a day.”
What is your favourite family activity? We love to play outdoors, talk to each other and tell stories about older generations, historical events, ancestry, play games, and watch movies.
What has been your biggest family adventure so far? We have recently moved to a new state. Learning to live, explore and understand an new style of life…city life is much more different than country life.
What are you most grateful for (as a family or individually)? As a family we are grateful that we have the ability to live the lifestyle that we do. As an individual, I am grateful that I have gotten to a point in my life where I enjoy what I am doing, how I spend my time, and what I am always creating.
Three words to describe how you feel about your lifestyle? Magic. Connection. Flow.
